My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance is an New Jersey Emo rock band that was formed in 2001. It consist of the following five members, Gerard Way-singer, Ray Toro-lead guitar, Mikey Way-bass guitar, Frank Iero-rythm guitar and drummer Bob Bryar. Three months after the formation of the band they recorded their debut album; I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love, which was subsequently released in 2002 on Eyeball Records.

The album has sold over 300,000 records to date. In 2003, the band signed a deal with Reprise Records and after a tour with Avenged Sevenfold, the band began work on a second album. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge was released in 2004. Four successful singles were released from this album: “Thank You for the Venom”, “I’m Not Okay (I Promise)”, “Helena” and “The Ghost of You”. My Chemical Romance’s third album was entitled The Black Parade. The album debuted at number two on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart and is also certified as platinum by the RIAA. In 2008, My Chemical Romance won a Grammy Award for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package for the album The Black Parade.

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood was born to Stephen and Carole Underwood in Muskogee, Oklahoma on March 10, 1983. In 1996, she was in the process of getting a contract with Capitol Records, but the deal was canceled when the recording company’s management changed. Carrie Underwood auditioned for American Idol in St. Louis in the summer of 2004. On May 25, 2005 Carrie Underwood was declared the winner of American Idol Season 4. On November 15, 2005 she released her debut album entitled Some Hearts. Since it’s release it has been certified seven times platinum in the U.S. (RIAA) and three times platinum in Canada (CRIA).

On December 4, 2006, Some Hearts was named the number-one selling album of the year of all genres at the Billboard Music Awards. On October 23, 2007, she released her second album, Carnival Ride. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 Chart selling 527,000 copies, giving Underwood her first number one album. She performed “I Know You Won’t” at the People’s Choice Awards on January 7, 2009, where she won in all her nominated categories – Favorite Female Artist, a special award celebrating People’s Choice Awards’ 35th anniversary which is Favorite Star 35 and Under, and Favorite Country Song for “Last Name”.

Jennifer Love Hewitt

Jennifer Love Hewitt was born on February 21, 1979 in Waco, Texas. She began her acting career as a child by appearing in television commercials and the Disney Channel series Kids Incorporated. At the age of ten she moved to Los Angeles, California with her mother to pursue a career in both acting and singing. After moving to Los Angeles Jennifer Love Hewitt she danced in and sang all the songs for a live action video called Dance! Workout With Barbie released by Buena Vista. After she joined the cast of Party of Five in 1995 she signed to Atlantic Records and released the album Let’s Go Bang.

Unfortunately the album was a failure. In 1999, she recorded the single “How Do I Deal” for the I Still Know What You Did Last Summer soundtrack. It became Jennifer Love Hewitt’s first charting single. In 2002 she released the album, BareNaked. The album only charted as high as the #37 spot on the Billboard 200. The first single, of the same name, made it to the number twenty-four spot on the Billboard 200. In 2003,Jennifer Love Hewitt released a compilation album called Cool with You: The Platinum Collection. It was only released in Asia.

Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson was born as Brian Hugh Warner on January 5, 1969 in Canton, Ohio. He was raised in his mother’s religion graduating from Cardinal Gibbons High School in 1987. In 1990, Manson was a college student attending Broward Community College working toward journalism degree. In 1989 he formed Marilyn Manson & the Spooky Kids. In 1992 the name was just shortened to Marilyn Manson. His stage name was formed from the names of actress Marilyn Monroe and convicted murderer Charles Manson. In 1994 they produced their debut album Portrait of an American Family and released it on the Nothing Records label. In 1996 he released Antichrist Superstar, It was produced by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails and has sold over 7.5 million copies as of the summer of 2008. Since then the band has released five other albums. Marilyn Manson made his film debut in 1997, as an actor in David Lynch’s Lost Highway. Since than he has appeared in several roles including Clone High, Party Monster and King Shot.

On March 22, 2004, He proposed to Dita Von Teese and gave her a 1930s-era, 7 carats, European round-cut diamond engagement ring. On November 28, 2005, Manson and von Teese were married in a private, non-denominational ceremony in their home. Unfortunately,among rumors of Manson having an affair with Evan Rachel Wood, Von Teese filed for divorce due to “irreconcilable differences On December 30, 2006.

Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake was born on January 31, 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of Lynn Bomar and Randall Timberlake. His parents divorced about 1985, and both have now remarried. In 1993, Timberlake joined the cast of The Mickey Mouse Club. His cast mates included future girlfriend and pop superstar Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and future bandmate JC Chasez. The show ended in 1994, but late in 1995 Timberlake recruited JC Chasez to be in an all-male singing group organized by band manager Lou Pearlman that eventually became ‘N Sync. The group hit it big in the United States in 1998 with the US release of its debut album NSYNC, which sold 11 million copies worldwide.

For the next two years, encouraged by similar developments with the Backstreet Boys, ‘N Sync engaged in a lengthy legal battle with corrupt manager Lou Pearlman. Eventually the band signed with Jive Records.[13] ‘N Sync released a long-awaited album, No Strings Attached, in March 2000, which became the fastest-selling album of all time.

In 2002, Justin Timberlake released his debut album Justified. It spawned several hit singles such as Rock Your Body and Cry Me a River. On September 12, 2006, Justin Timberlake released his sophomore album FutureSex/LoveSounds. The album was a smash hit garnering sales in excess of 9 million, over four million of which have been sold in the United States alone.

Ashanti

Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, known simply as Ashanti, was born on October 13, 1980 in Glen Cove, New York. When she was six, Ashanti sang in a gospel choir and her mother noticed her singing talents early. By the time Ashanti hit puberty, her mother was sending out demo tapes of her singing and dancing. The family could not afford to go to a studio and record a formal demo, so when labels called, Ashanti would have to sing and dance in front of the record company executives. When Ashanti was fourteen, she was discovered by P.Diddy’s Bad Boy Records. Initially, she went to Bad Boy Records and sang one of Mary J. Blige’s songs in front of P.Diddy and Biggie Smalls. After being impressed by her singing ability, Diddy pulled out a bottle and told her it was his new fragrance, which he said he loved.

After one sniff, Ashanti said, “Oh pew, it stinks. I hate it!” Diddy started laughing, later stating that it was a test to judge her character. In the end, due to a bad contract, Ashanti did not sign with Diddy. Ashanti subsequently involved herself in schoolwork, cheerleading, and running on her school’s track team. Then in 2002, she released her debut album Ashanti. The album debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and has sold over five million copies worldwide. Since then, Ashanti has released three more albums, Chapter II(2003), Concrete Rose(2004) and The Declaration (2008). She has also acted in several films including, Bride and Prejudice (2004), Coach Carter (2005) and Resident Evil: Extinction (2007).
